TRUTH Honduras Mission Trip Day 1
After waking up, getting ready, and having breakfast our day truly started with an 8AM bus ride to the location of a church being built. Funny thing about international mission, especially when it’s your first time, you have no idea what to expect. I did not realize that helping a church with concrete work meant we were helping lay the foundation of the Church to come.
It was an absolutely humbling experience getting to carry around bags of cement, lay rebar, and fill and dump wheel barrels full of mixed cement. All while hearing the song Firm Foundation play in my head as we continued to work. I understand that may be a little corny, but the genuine realization that our labor now will lead to worship later in that space gave me a lot to think about while I was covered in splashed up cement from the mixer.
